Not really any problems through out the game. But be wary of grass types. Treecko is okay. But will have problems with the 4th gym, 6th gym and the elite 4 drake and glacia. Torchic is good for starters.

Problems: 1st gym unless it evolve and learned doulbe kick, 6th gym 8th gym and wallace. User Info: Mithrilguy. The best is mudkip.. Im with gelopicio, lol, and topher65,still its up to u.

Question Status Best Starter? It makes for a good Psychic type in-game with massive battling benefits. There is no other way to get a Lucky Egg in Emerald. Along with Groudon and Rayquaza, Kyogre is a part of the weather trio. Kyogre possesses the ability to expand oceans.

You can catch Kyogre in Emerald after beating the main game. Once you have Mew cornered, talk to it to begin the battle. Throw your Master Ball to catch Mew. The very bulky Swampert, by the same token, could have done much better than Damp which prevents Explosion. Meanwhile, though, the Torchic line was given Speed Boost, which ups its Speed at the end of each turn.

With this, Blaziken can snowball out of control and leave whole teams shattered. Its fellow Hoenn starter, the Treecko line, is a different case entirely. So, yes. With its base 35 Defense in mind, it would be completely understandable if Treecko chose to avoid any and all fights. While this holds the Torchic line back, its offensive firepower and coverage allow it to single-handedly sweep many teams once it achieves full power in the late-game, making it a valuable addition to any Nuzlocke team and earning it our second-place ranking.

However, Treecko begins to run into trouble by the mid-game, as the Fire-type and Flying-type gyms force Treecko to largely sit out of important battles. Its single Grass-typing limits its offensive coverage, and by the late-game its power begins to fade, as Leaf Blade only has 70 Base Power in generation three.

This is somewhat offset by a type advantage against the Water-type Champion Wallace though this does not apply to the same extent in Ruby and Sapphire, where the Rock and Steel-type Steven is Champion.
