When a Disc-R is made Non-Rewritable, the laser scratches an invisible ring on the disc to stop further data to be imprinted. It is impossible to write on a disc that has been deemed non-rewritable.
Disc-RW on the other hand is able to rewrite over and over again, hence why it is called "RW Rewritable ". These discs are much cheaper than Disc-R. I would recommend Disc-RW if you are using it for pictures or like a memory-stick. Disc-R automatically protects the data on the disc whereas Disc-RW can be tampered with by another user.

After the CD loads into the drive, a window is displayed prompting you for the format. Click the option labeled "Burn Files to Disc. The first window prompts you for a CD label. This label is shown whenever you view the CD in your computer's drive. Make sure you are creating the disc properly. All this does is burn the data files to the disc and not create an audio disc.
A data disk with MP3 files may work with a computer but does not always work in CD players unless they support MP3 format. Not all home entertainment DVD players are capable of supporting and playing all the different formats of movie and audio files. If your computer is capable of playing the files off the DVD, but your home entertainment DVD player cannot play the file, you are likely encountering this problem. If, after reading through the recommendations above you continue to have the same issue, the disc is defective.
Try re-burning the disc and if possible, try a different brand of recordable disc. If all the above recommendations do not resolve the issue, the CD-R drive itself may be bad and need to be replaced.
